Bowtie Yacht Rules

Thank you for choosing Bowtie Yacht Charters for your exclusive yachting experience. To ensure your time aboard is as enjoyable and safe as possible, please take a moment to review our guidelines. Should you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us anytime.


PARKING
Parking is limited, particularly during the busy summer months. We recommend arriving early, and consider using ride-sharing services such as Uber or Lyft for convenience. Please plan ahead, as parking spaces are not guaranteed.


YACHT RULES

  • Footwear: For safety and comfort, please refrain from wearing heels, boots, or hard shoes. Flat shoes or sandals are required. Guests wearing inappropriate footwear will be asked to remove them before boarding.
  • Restroom Use: Please do not dispose of toilet paper, feminine products, or any non-biodegradable items in the toilets. Help us keep the yacht in top condition for all guests.
  • Smoking: Smoking is allowed on the back deck only. Please be respectful of others and dispose of cigarette butts properly.
  • Behavior: Excessive intoxication, disruptive behavior, or any destructive actions—including clogging toilets with paper or other items—will result in the immediate termination of the event, without refund.
  • Safety: Jumping from the 2nd-level deck is strictly prohibited.
  • Children: For safety reasons, all children under the age of 12 must wear a life jacket. One will be provided upon request.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change, and we strive to offer flexibility for our valued guests. If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us as soon as possible by contacting the lead booker by EMAILING US HERE or by calling us directly.

  • Full Refund: For cancellations made at least 3 months prior to your departure date, you will receive a full refund of your deposit.
  • Weather-Related Cancellations: If your charter is canceled due to unforeseen weather conditions or a weather advisory issued by the Coast Guard, we will offer you a 100% refund or the option to reschedule your charter for the earliest available date.

Does the Boat come with a Captain?

At Bowtie Yacht Charters, all our captains are Coast Guard certified and fully licensed to operate commercial vessels, ensuring your safety and a top-tier experience on the water.

Do you have commercial insurance?

At Bowtie Yacht Charters, we carry comprehensive commercial insurance for your peace of mind. A copy of our insurance policy is available upon request.

Can I drive the yacht if I have a sailing license?

No, guests are not permitted to drive the yacht. All of our captains are commercially certified and specifically trained to operate the Vessel for your safety and enjoyment.

Where do we go?

We sail through the beautiful San Diego Bay, starting from Point Loma, passing downtown, the USS Midway, and the Navy ships, all the way to South Bay. Enjoy stunning views and a unique perspective of the city!

Can I bring my own DJ?

Yes, you may bring your own DJ aboard. We can also provide a DJ upon request for an additional fee. The choice is yours!

If I bring my own DJ, what would they need to bring?

Your DJ only needs to bring their controller or CDJs. There's no need for additional speakers or equipment, as Bowtie Yachts is equipped with a top-of-the-line sound system, featuring over 20 high-quality speakers throughout the boat, providing a true "club-like" experience on the water.

How long can I reserve the yacht for?

Bowtie Yacht Charters can be reserved for a minimum of 3 hours on weekdays and 4 hours on weekends. Additional time may be available upon request, subject to availability and approval.

Can we go fishing?

Sorry, Fishing is not available at this time on BowTie Yachts.

Do you provide video/filming equipment?

Yes, upon request and for an additional fee, we have access to state-of-the-art camera equipment to capture your experience. Let us know in advance, and we'll arrange everything for you!

Do you have a liquor license?

At Bowtie Yacht Charters, we do not have a liquor license, but you are welcome to bring your own alcohol aboard. Additionally, we can arrange for a third-party caterer to supply liquor upon request.

Does it get Cold on the boat?

At Bowtie Yacht Charters, our yachts are equipped with both heating and air conditioning to ensure your comfort year-round. During the winter months, the interior offers plenty of space to keep your entire group cozy and warm!

Internet Connection?

Yes, Bowtie Yacht Charters offers a WiFi hotspot onboard to keep you connected during your voyage.

Do you Cater?

At Bowtie Yacht Charters, we offer a variety of catering options tailored to your budget and event type. Whether you're looking for a private sushi chef or San Diego's world renowned Mexican Food, we've got you covered!

IS ALCHOL ALLOWED OR INCLUDED??

Yes, alcohol is allowed aboard Bowtie Yacht Charters. However, food and beverages are not included in our packages. We can arrange for third-party caterers to supply liquor, but we recommend that you bring your own alcohol, and our crew will gladly serve it for you.

Is there an age requirement?

Is there an age requirement?
There is no age requirement to enjoy Bowtie Yacht Charters. However, for safety, children under 12 must wear life jackets, which we can provide if needed.

What’s the boat's capacity?

Our yacht can accommodate up to 50 people on COI vessels. For optimal comfort, we recommend groups of up to 40 guests. Bareboat carters are limited by the coastguard to a maximum of 12 paying customers + crew.

What if someone in my party needs to leave early?

Early drop-offs are not permitted unless discussed with the captain before boarding. If someone in your party becomes sick, our crew will make every effort to bring them back to shore immediately or call 911 if emergency medical attention is required.

Will I get sea sick?

We sail within the protected waters of the bay, so seasickness is rarely an issue. However, if you're susceptible, we recommend taking Dramamine 30 minutes before boarding to help prevent discomfort.
